In 2020, we set an ambitious goal to become carbon neutral by 2025. In response to the climate crisis, we’ve been actively offsetting emissions from our V8 vehicles by donating trees through a Charitable Trust, participating in beach clean-ups, and prioritising recycling, reusing, and composting. We also support initiatives from both our staff and customers, and make use of electric cars and bikes wherever possible.
However, with the New Zealand Government now pushing the national carbon-neutral target to 2050, we too are slightly behind our original schedule. But rest assured, like many other businesses, we remain fully committed to reaching this goal.
In 2023, we joined The Green Room | Te Rūma Kākāriki, an initiative from Tourism Industry Aotearoa that aligns with the Government’s target of achieving net carbon zero by 2050. This partnership has helped us deepen our understanding and build confidence in our pursuit of zero carbon and regenerative goals. The journey has been eye-opening, helping us better understand the environmental impact of our waste and supply chain, and guiding us in making meaningful improvements, an ongoing process we are fully dedicated to.
